Queen's Diamond Jubilee Flotilla

Join us for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Eastbourne celebrates this historic event on Monday 4th June 2012 on seafront and Western Lawns and we are organising a flotilla of boats to display between Sovereign Harbour and the iconic Beachy Head Lighthouse.

Premier Marinas berth holders and visiting craft are invited to dress their boats and form an armada for the enjoyment of themselves and the watching public who would benefit from the spectacular site of the nautical procession.

Commentary will be from the Western Lawns on the event and there will be a prize of lunch for two at The Aviator Club at Airbourne for the best dressed boat to be presented at the Harbour by the Mayor of Eastbourne.

The flotilla would commence from 2.00 p.m.

Participants will also receive a Diamond Jubilee Commemorative rosette or small plaque.

Beware the dangers of the "Boulder Bank" which is a reef approximately 120 metres off the end of the pier and runs through to the west, as Andrew on Freya found to his cost last year; and also "The Pound", a line of rocks which run close inshore from the Wish Tower to Beachy Head.
