Training

Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club is recognised by the RYA as a training establishment, authorised to carry out many of the shorebased courses associated with the RYA Training Scheme.

The following courses are offered:

• Day Skipper RYA Theory Course
• Yachtmaster RYA Theory Course
• Basic Navigation & Safety (Shorebased)
• Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore (Shorebased)

Plus a range of practical one-day courses:

• Diesel Engine
• First Aid
• Marine Radio Short Range Certificate
• Radar

Besides these formal courses, arrangements can be made through the club to meet specific practical training needs, including coaching for the Yachtmaster practical exam and ladies-only sailing days.
