Summer Cruise 2007

Summer Cruise 2007 Saturday 28th July - Saturday 11th August

Not everybody can join the whole cruise. In order to enable as many people as possible to join at least part of it, I have devised a modular cruise that allows for bad weather delays, vessels joining and leaving during the cruise and differing choices of destination.

The plan is,

Eastbourne-Bembridge From here on, numerous choices are on offer dependant on weather conditions, which apart from Isle of Wight attractions, include, Haslar/Portsmouth submarine museum, HMS Victory, Mary Rose, etc Southampton water/Hamble River Numerous pleasant marinas, city centre shopping Beaulieu River Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu village Lymington Lovely marinas, nice town, New Forest

Bembridge-Yarmouth en route Wootton Creek, etc., from here we have the choice to go west to Poole, Brownsea Island, also on to Weymouth perhaps stopping at Lulworth Cove. Alderney still easy from Weymouth.

Yarmouth-Alderney an easy day sail to this interesting Channel Islands port. Giving the option to go further south into the channel islands or on to the Brittany coast. Alderney-St Vaast a beautiful and interesting town giving ample opportunity to eat oysters!

St Vaast-Honfleur Gives a wide range of ports of call en route within the bay of the Seine, many of which our club will never have visited. Taking as long as we have available dependant on weather and tides.

Honfleur-Fecamp a straight forward passage with a trip into Le Havre possible. From here one could continue north east as far as desired. Fecamp-Eastbourne an easy cross channel trip home for those with only a fortnight.
