CLUB BYE-LAWS REVISED JUNE 2017
The opening hours of the Bar and Clubhouse will be displayed on the Club website and in the Clubhouse.
Members or guests under the age of 18 shall not be permitted to purchase alcoholic drinks. When having a meal in the restaurant area persons aged 16 or 17 may consume (but not purchase) beer, wine and cider with their food if accompanied by an adult, in accordance with current licensing law.
Only food and drink purchased on the premises may be consumed within the Club in the absence of specific permission to the contrary.
Any member, visitor or guest may be asked to leave the premises at any time by the Bar Steward, a Flag Officer or Director if their behaviour is deemed antisocial or unacceptable. Under no circumstances will any verbal or physical abuse of staff or Officers be tolerated.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult member at all times who is responsible for them.
Each member may bring guests (this includes spouses and partners) into the Club with them who should all complete the visitors book. Individual guests may only come in to the Club a maximum of 6 times a year irrespective of who signs them in. If they wish to come in more often they should become members. Guests must not remain in the Club after the member has left.
Members, visitors or guests may not be introduced into the club if they have been refused membership or have been suspended or expelled from the club.
Yachtsmen/yachtswomen visiting by boat will be offered complimentary entrance to the Club for up to one month and will be given a temporary membership card by the bar staff for the duration of their stay.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when on Club premises and kept under proper control by the owner. They are not allowed behind the bar at any time nor are they allowed on furniture. When food is being served we ask owners to respect those eating by keeping their dogs away from the dining area. Assistance dogs are however allowed to remain with their owners at all times.
When making reservations for Club functions membership numbers must be provided and the full amount must be paid at the time of booking. Requests for refunds prior to the event will be dealt with in a sympathetic manner but the Club reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee to cover costs already committed to. The Club will always however try to re-sell tickets where possible to avoid any loss for members. Any refunds will be credited to the member’s card.
The Club will not be responsible for any loss or theft of any valuables, clothing or property left in the Clubhouse.
Members and guests are expected to wear smart casual clothing or better when attending the Club. Shirts/tops must be worn at all times within the Club. Offensive slogans on clothing are not allowed and any person may be refused entry or asked to leave if wearing such items. The wearing of hats or caps within the club rooms is not permitted.
All gambling is forbidden within the Club unless organised by the Club for fundraising purposes and has been sanctioned by the Board.
Any person wishing to display a poster or notice anywhere within the Club must firstly seek permission to do so. The poster or notice should be handed to the Bar Steward, a Flag Officer or Director who will either display the item for you or refuse permission to do so.
Any member or guest who wilfully damages Club property will be liable for the cost of repair.
If you have any comments or complaints about the Club or its personnel they should be addressed to the Directors at firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to the Club for the attention of the Directors. You may also speak to any of the Flag Officers or Directors about any issues you may have.
11.SMOKING AND E CIGARETTES
Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the Club premises. This includes the smoking of E Cigarettes. Smoking is however permitted outside on the balconies away from doors.
